Aftercare Instructions

After your cosmetic injectables appointment with us, we advise you to follow the aftercare instructions below.

Dermal Filler Aftercare

Avoid alcohol and strenuous exercise for 24 hours post treatment.
Avoid rubbing/touching area until the morning after treatment.
Avoid applying makeup to treated area for 48 hours post treatment.
Immediately following dermal filler treatment there may be swelling, tenderness and slight redness or bruising present. This is a normal response and will eventually subside after a few days to a week. Arnica tablets can be used to help the healing process.
Apply ice to the treated area as much as possible for 48 hours following treatment. Hirudoid cream can be applied to help bruising.
Avoid laying down for 6 hours post treatment – keep head elevated.
Avoid taking any blood thinning medications including aspirin or ibuprofen for 48 hours post treatment. Paracetamol is recommended for any discomfort.
Avoid skin treatments for 2 weeks including waxing, facials, lasers, chemical peels.
You may feel lumps for up to 2 weeks following your treatments. As your body adjusts to the new volume and softens. If concerned please contact Maddy-Jane.
If you have extreme pain, excessive swelling or discolouration such as skin blanching, whiteness or severe bruising, please contact Maddy-Jane immediately in order to be assessed.
Book in for your two week follow up to have your post injection review. A 2 week follow up is highly recommended for a positive outcome. Additional medication may be required at this appointment for an additional fee. Please note it may require several appointments to build up to your aesthetic goals.

Anti-Wrinkle Aftercare

Avoid alcohol and strenuous exercise for 24 hours post treatment.
Avoid rubbing/touching area until the morning after treatment.
There is a small risk of bruising following treatment. This is only temporary. If bruised, gently apply ice to the area. Arnica cream may be applied to help bruising.
Avoid skin treatments for 2 weeks including waxing, facials, lasers, chemical peels.
Avoid laying down for 6 hours post treatment – keep head elevated.
Avoid taking any blood thinning medications including aspirin or ibuprofen for 48 hours post treatment.
Avoid wearing any makeup and skinwear for 8 hours post treatment.
Book in for your 2 week follow up. A 2 week follow up is highly recommended for a positive outcome. Your treatment will take 4-7 days to start working and will take up to 2 weeks to see the final results. Adjustments can be made and additional units may be required at your follow up appointment at an additional cost.
