You will be unable to receive any cosmetic injectables if you are under 18, pregnant or breastfeeding. If you are unwell or have an active infection, a previous reaction to injectables or have an uncontrolled medical diagnosis you also will not be able to receive cosmetic injectables.

Your first Anti-Wrinkle/Dermal filler appointment will start with a thorough facial assessment with nurse Maddy-Jane in which you will discuss medical history, allergies, concerns and expectations and together come up with a personalised treatment plan with treatment goals. Nurse Maddy will ensure all necessary information is provided in order for you to make informed treatment decisions.

Before photos are obtained prior to treatment for documentation purposes and you will be asked to sign a consent form for your treatment. You will then have a short facetime appointment with a specialist cosmetic doctor to go over the proposed treatment plan in which you will also have the chance to ask any questions or voice any concerns you may have. Maddy-Jane will then continue with your decided treatment, advise you of your aftercare instructions and book you in for your complimentary two week follow up appointment.

Your comfort levels during your treatment is very important and nurse Maddy ensures clients are as comfortable as possible during the procedure. Anti-Wrinkle injections often have minimal to small pain and injections may feel like a small, brief pin prick. If you are getting dermal filler to the lips a topical numbing agent is also applied to help reduce pain at time of injecting. Dermal filler clients might experience a slight pressure feeling or stinging sensation. While pain is subjective and individual’s pain threshold can vary, Maddy will constantly check on you throughout your treatment to ensure your comfort.

Prior to receiving any cosmetic injectables it is recommended to avoid vigorous physical activity or excessive alcohol intake for the 24 hours prior to your appointment as this increases the chance of bruising. Avoid taking any aspirin or nurofen one week prior to your treatment. On the day of your appointment make sure you prepare any questions you may have and remove any makeup prior to your visit. Stay well hydrated on the day of your appointment and do not come to your appointment if you are unwell.

Yes,  Anti-Wrinkle injections are one of the most effective preventative anti ageing treatments available worldwide. Anti-Wrinkle injections influence the movement of facial muscles by reducing contractions which prevents future lines from forming. By inhibiting the movements of these muscles and training the face to avoid these muscles, anti-wrinkle treatment can be used as a tool for preventing wrinkles from forming in the future. Due to wrinkles resulting from the repetitive movements of the skin, getting anti-wrinkle injections earlier can help prevent them from occurring later on. Small treatments and maintenance over time will result in more natural looking, long term results.

Each and every person metabolises treatments differently and results will vary. As a general rule I recommend repeating the treatment before the muscle returns to normal which is typically around 3-4 months. This way there is a continued softening effect providing optimal results.

Dermal filler lasts anywhere from 6-18 months depending on what product is used, the area inserted and individual variants including how quickly your body metabolises the product.

There is no single age or magic number that applies to all people. The best time to begin anti-wrinkle treatment depends on your specific aesthetic goals and circumstances. Some people may wish to start when fine lines are visible even when face is at rest, for others they may begin preventative treatments earlier before fine lines become ingrained. A typical time we see people starting anti-wrinkle treatments is from around the age of 25. Around this age our collagen production starts to decrease. When this happens our skin starts to appear more thin, pale and becomes more susceptible to fine lines and wrinkles. By relaxing these muscles with anti-wrinkle treatment we can prevent deep lines from forming.
